General Information

Chitradurga District Police force Comes under the jurisdiction of Eastern Range.Chitradurga District having border with Davanagere, Shimoga, Chickmagalur, Bellary and Tumkur. Police Headquarter for Chitradurga district police is situated in Thuruvanur Road, Chitradurga Town. This district  consists of 19 Police Stations, 14 Police Out Posts, 7 Police Circle Offices, and 3 Police Sub Divisions. Apart from this District Armed Reserve, District Special Branch, District Crime Records Bureau, Finger Print Unit, Dog Squad and Wireless Units are working under Superintendent of Police, Chitradurga.

Present Strength of Chitradurga District Police force  is One Superintendent of Police, One Additional Superintendent of Police, 5 Deputy Superintendent of Polices, 11 Police Inspectors, 33 Police Sub Inspectors, 67 ASIs, 280 Head Constables  and 863 Police Constables  including District Armed Reserve. (total strength 1260).

Chitradurga District police have computerized all the police station data (of last 10 years) with the help of NCRB supplied software called CCIS in which all the Job, Passport etc., verification results can be obtained immediately. Motor Vehicle  verification counter has been opened in the Police Headquarter for the general public to know the status of motor vehicles.

Police Control Room will function round the clock to help the general public. Chandravalli (Police Jeep), Cheetha(Police Motor Cycles) are on town rounds to serve general   public/to attend the complaints immediately/to rush to the spot immediately  to maintain the law & order and to prevent the Crimes.
